Had a really wonderful experience from start to finish. Food was fantastic and although pricey (what else would you expect from a Michelin star restaurant) it is worth it. James came out of the kitchen so it was lovely to meet him and the staff are a credit to him. Would love to visit again.

This Michelin-starred (one) restaurant on the Esplanade in Penarth (Wales) has a delightful staff serving exceptional food. Although there are a la carte selections, we always (were regulars) choose the chefs tasting menu (6- or 9-courses), with wine pairings. Some specialties recur (thank goodness theyve become favorites), while others vary with the season and market availability. Food is sourced locally when possible. Imagination and creativity in flavor combinations make each meal a surprise and a delight. Presentation is an integral part of the meal; each course arrives with a flourish and an explanation from one of the chefs. James himself is a cheerful presence at each meal. We once tried the Chefs Table a notable challenge, as I believe we got one of everything on the menu (what a way to go!) The efficient and spotless kitchen made us appreciate our dining room visits even more. The prices reflect the quality of the food and service, but these meals are worth every penny!

Absolutely amazing experience! We had the 9 course tasting menu. It was a wonderful selection of courses, each one quite different but all equally delicious and beautifully presented. The decor of the restaurant itself is extremely stylish. The service was superb! The staff were knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble and very friendly.

Me and my wife went there for our wedding anniversary and we absolutely loved it! Neither of us have ever been to a michellin star restaurant before, and we went in with the expectation that the food would taste lovely but we would probably leave still feeling a little hungry... We were almost right. The food tasted better than we expected and we left absolutely stuffed.I would recommend this place to anyone. The food is truly amazing and the staff are top class.

Fantastic food. Amazing wine. Brilliant and knowledgeable staff. Dining room is really nice and comfortable and relaxed. Well deserving of the accolades.
